About Home Solutions Construction

A local, family-run general contractor serving Santa Maria, Orcutt and Santa Barbara County.

Martin, owner of Home Solutions Construction Inc.
Meet Martin

Built On Trust.
Driven By Pride.

I started Home Solutions Construction Inc. with one goal: to treat every home like it’s my own. With over 15 years of hands-on experience, I take pride in delivering quality work, honest communication, and results that last.

Before this was a company it was just me and a truck, doing framing and remodels for neighbors around Santa Maria. What grew the business was not advertising — it was people telling their friends that we showed up when we said we would and finished what we started.

That is still the whole standard. Every project gets a crew that shows up, a schedule you can hold me to, and a finish I would be happy to put my name on. Because I do.

Our Story

How We Got Here

Before the company

A Truck and a Skill Saw

Martin started out doing framing and remodels for neighbors around Santa Maria. No advertising, no website — just work that got talked about.

15+ years

Learning Every Trade on the Job

Framing, carpentry, tile, waterproofing, roofing. Time on real job sites is why he can tell you what is behind a wall before it opens.

March 2024

Home Solutions Construction Inc.

The business was formally incorporated in California and licensed with the CSLB as a General Building (Class B) contractor, license #1125128.

Today

Crews Across Two Counties

Kitchens, baths, roofs, ADUs and whole-home renovations from Pismo down to Santa Barbara — still with Martin walking every bid personally.

What We Stand On

How We Run Every Job

Personalized Service

You deal with Martin and one project manager — not a call center and not a rotating cast of subs who have never seen your job.

Quality Craftsmanship

We self-perform framing, carpentry and waterproofing. The work that fails quietly is the work we refuse to hand off.

Honest Communication

Calls and texts get returned the same day. If something behind the wall changes the plan, you hear it from us with photos, not on the invoice.

On-Time & On-Budget

Written line-item estimates and milestone dates in the contract. Change orders get signed before the work happens, never after.

Licensed & Insured

CSLB #1125128, bonded, with general liability and workers’ compensation on every person who sets foot on your property.

Satisfaction Guaranteed

We build the punch list with you and close it out before final payment — then answer the phone after the check clears.

Paperwork You Should Always Ask For

Ask every contractor you interview for these four documents. If they hesitate on any of them, keep interviewing.

  • Contractor’s license — CSLB #1125128, General Building (Class B), active
  • General liability insurance — certificate provided with every proposal
  • Workers’ compensation — so an injury on your property is not your problem
  • Contractor’s bond — $25,000, on file with the state

Verify our license yourself at cslb.ca.gov — search license number 1125128.

Straight Talk

What We Are Not

Knowing where a contractor stops is as useful as knowing what they do.

  • Not the cheapest bid. We price permits, real allowances and cleanup into the number instead of discovering them later.
  • Not a specialty shop. No standalone HVAC service calls, pools, solar-only installs, tree work or septic.
  • Not a franchise. Your call is answered locally by the people who will be on your job.
  • Not a design firm. We build, and we work alongside your designer or bring in ours when drawings are needed.
  • Not everywhere. We stay close enough to the Central Coast to actually show up when you need us.

We Will Talk You Out of Work

If a repair will serve you better than a replacement, we say so. If your layout idea will not pencil, we say so. If selling makes more financial sense than renovating, we have said that too.

We would rather lose a job than build someone something they regret. That is not a sales line — it is why most of our work comes from referrals.

Safety Is Not Optional

Every person on your property is covered by workers’ compensation. If a contractor’s crew is not, an injury on your job can become your liability. Ask for the certificate — from us and from anyone else you interview.

Start to Finish

How the Process Works

Same five steps on every project, from a single bathroom to a ground-up ADU.

Consult

We walk the property, listen to what you want, and talk budget honestly before anything gets drawn.

Design & Bid

Drawings, material selections and a written line-item estimate with allowances stated in dollars.

Permits

We submit to the city or county, handle plan-review corrections and schedule every inspection.

Build

Demo, structure, rough-ins, inspections, finishes — with weekly photo updates.

Walkthrough

We build the punch list with you, close it out, hand over warranties and clean the site.

Where We Work

Serving the Central Coast

We know the building departments, the inspectors and the lead times here — which is why our permits do not sit in a queue for months.

Santa Maria

Home base. Most of our work starts within a few miles of the shop, and we know the city plan-check desk by name.

Santa Maria guide

Orcutt

Kitchens, baths, roofing and garage-to-ADU conversions throughout Orcutt and Old Town.

Orcutt guide

Nipomo

Larger lots and more ADU room. Regular remodel and addition work up the 101.

Guadalupe

Older housing stock where re-stucco, roofing and full rewires are common.

Lompoc

Whole-home renovations and roofing, including coastal-exposure detailing.

Los Alamos

Small-town remodels and additions in unincorporated Santa Barbara County.

Buellton

Kitchen, bath and ADU work in the Santa Ynez Valley.

Solvang

Remodels that have to respect existing architectural character.

FAQ

About the Company

Who will actually be on my job?

Martin walks every bid personally. From contract through punch list you get one project manager as your single point of contact, plus our own crews on framing, carpentry and waterproofing, and vetted licensed subs on the rest.

How long has the company been around?

Home Solutions Construction Inc. was incorporated in California in March 2024, built on Martin's 15+ years of hands-on residential construction before that. The license and corporate filing are both public record if you want to verify.

Are you really licensed?

Yes — CSLB #1125128, General Building (Class B), active and bonded. Look it up at cslb.ca.gov. We would encourage you to check any contractor you are considering, including us.

What if something goes wrong after the job is done?

Call us. You get a written workmanship warranty plus every manufacturer warranty registered in your name. We answer the phone after the check clears — that is most of the reason our work comes from referrals.

Do you use subcontractors?

For specialty trades, yes — electrical, plumbing beyond our scope, HVAC, stone fabrication. They are licensed, insured and the same people on nearly every job, so they know our standards. Framing, carpentry and waterproofing we do ourselves.

Can I talk to past clients?

Absolutely. Tell us what you are planning and we will connect you with homeowners who had similar work done.
