Personalized Service
You deal with Martin and one project manager — not a call center and not a rotating cast of subs who have never seen your job.
A local, family-run general contractor serving Santa Maria, Orcutt and Santa Barbara County.
I started Home Solutions Construction Inc. with one goal: to treat every home like it’s my own. With over 15 years of hands-on experience, I take pride in delivering quality work, honest communication, and results that last.
Before this was a company it was just me and a truck, doing framing and remodels for neighbors around Santa Maria. What grew the business was not advertising — it was people telling their friends that we showed up when we said we would and finished what we started.
That is still the whole standard. Every project gets a crew that shows up, a schedule you can hold me to, and a finish I would be happy to put my name on. Because I do.
Martin started out doing framing and remodels for neighbors around Santa Maria. No advertising, no website — just work that got talked about.
Framing, carpentry, tile, waterproofing, roofing. Time on real job sites is why he can tell you what is behind a wall before it opens.
The business was formally incorporated in California and licensed with the CSLB as a General Building (Class B) contractor, license #1125128.
Kitchens, baths, roofs, ADUs and whole-home renovations from Pismo down to Santa Barbara — still with Martin walking every bid personally.
On site, every day
You deal with Martin and one project manager — not a call center and not a rotating cast of subs who have never seen your job.
We self-perform framing, carpentry and waterproofing. The work that fails quietly is the work we refuse to hand off.
Calls and texts get returned the same day. If something behind the wall changes the plan, you hear it from us with photos, not on the invoice.
Written line-item estimates and milestone dates in the contract. Change orders get signed before the work happens, never after.
CSLB #1125128, bonded, with general liability and workers’ compensation on every person who sets foot on your property.
We build the punch list with you and close it out before final payment — then answer the phone after the check clears.
Licensed & insured
Ask every contractor you interview for these four documents. If they hesitate on any of them, keep interviewing.
Verify our license yourself at cslb.ca.gov — search license number 1125128.
Knowing where a contractor stops is as useful as knowing what they do.
If a repair will serve you better than a replacement, we say so. If your layout idea will not pencil, we say so. If selling makes more financial sense than renovating, we have said that too.
We would rather lose a job than build someone something they regret. That is not a sales line — it is why most of our work comes from referrals.
Every person on your property is covered by workers’ compensation. If a contractor’s crew is not, an injury on your job can become your liability. Ask for the certificate — from us and from anyone else you interview.
Same five steps on every project, from a single bathroom to a ground-up ADU.
We walk the property, listen to what you want, and talk budget honestly before anything gets drawn.
Drawings, material selections and a written line-item estimate with allowances stated in dollars.
We submit to the city or county, handle plan-review corrections and schedule every inspection.
Demo, structure, rough-ins, inspections, finishes — with weekly photo updates.
We build the punch list with you, close it out, hand over warranties and clean the site.
We know the building departments, the inspectors and the lead times here — which is why our permits do not sit in a queue for months.
Home base. Most of our work starts within a few miles of the shop, and we know the city plan-check desk by name.
Santa Maria guideKitchens, baths, roofing and garage-to-ADU conversions throughout Orcutt and Old Town.
Orcutt guideLarger lots and more ADU room. Regular remodel and addition work up the 101.
Older housing stock where re-stucco, roofing and full rewires are common.
Whole-home renovations and roofing, including coastal-exposure detailing.
Small-town remodels and additions in unincorporated Santa Barbara County.
Kitchen, bath and ADU work in the Santa Ynez Valley.
Remodels that have to respect existing architectural character.
Martin walks every bid personally. From contract through punch list you get one project manager as your single point of contact, plus our own crews on framing, carpentry and waterproofing, and vetted licensed subs on the rest.
Home Solutions Construction Inc. was incorporated in California in March 2024, built on Martin's 15+ years of hands-on residential construction before that. The license and corporate filing are both public record if you want to verify.
